Top IP lawyer joins Fasken Martineau’s London office

October 7, 2008

Jeremy Morton joined Fasken Martineau’s London office where he will further strengthen the intellectual property (IP) practice. Jeremy Morton has a particular focus on the technology sector. This new addition to the Fasken Martineau team takes the number of partners in the firm’s London office to 28, seven of whom work in the IP practice.

Commenting on his move Morton said: “Fasken is a firm that is going places and there are opportunities to build an excellent practice from a good platform.” Norman Ziman, managing partner of Fasken Martineau’s London office, added: “The firm is delighted that Jeremy has agreed to join us to help us deliver our strategy of taking our commercial IP group to a higher level.”

Fasken Martineau’s London office was launched in 2007 when the firm merged with Stringer Saul. Since then, Fasken Martineau has attracted several prominent lateral hires, including Thomas Wexler, who joined in May last year to launch a project finance practice in the London office. Earlier this year Steven Beharrell joined the firm as senior counsel having previously worked at firms including Dewey & LeBoeuf. He joined the Corporate/Commercial and Energy practice groups.

Fasken Martineau has over 650 lawyers practicing in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, London and Johannesburg.
