Top Intellectual Property lawyer joins Fasken Martineau

Toronto – Fasken Martineau announced today that Timothy Squire has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group in Toronto. Tim was the Chair of the Intellectual Property group at his former firm, and is a seasoned lawyer in all areas of Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology. He brings with him a wealth of experience, from the protection of IP and the commercialization of new innovation through to infringement and technology litigation and dispute resolution.

Tim’s expertise encompasses all areas of IP, including patents, copyright, trademarks, industrial design and confidential information. He is a trusted advisor to many private and public companies in their pursuit to protect and commercialize innovation. Tim works with start-ups and established innovators, as well as institutional organizations.

In addition to his specialty of developing and managing comprehensive IP protection and commercialization strategies, Tim has extensive experience in resolving disputes involving IP and technology. He is an experienced litigator, and has appeared before all levels of the Federal Court and the Ontario Superior Court prosecuting and defending IP infringement cases and commercial cases involving technology, licensing and engineering issues. He has authored several notable publications on Internet copyright, confidential information and IP rights, and is the Chair of the Biomedical Device Committee for the Licensing Executive’s Society.
